Gregory, William C. (abt. 1892 – 22 Jan 1919)
William C. Gregory died at his home here Jan. 22nd, 1919, death being due to
jaundice following influenza. Will was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Gregory of
Humbird and at the time of his death was 27 years of age. He was born and
brought up near Humbird and attended the Humbird schools. For the past few
months he has been serving as temporary mail carrier on Route 1 here. He was
married June 2nd, 1915, to Ruth Iverson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Iverson
of this place and to this union were born two daughters. He is survived by his
wife and two children, Ruby and Thelma, his parents, four brothers, Mack of
Elroy, Wis., Robert and Harry of Virginia, Minn., and Omar of Humbird, two
sisters, Mrs. Dot Phillips of Humbird and Mrs. Daisy Twamley of Virginia, Minn.
The funeral, which was held from the house Sunday, was largely attended, Rev.
Colman of Neillsville officiating. Interment was made in the Columbia Cemetery.
Will was of a genial and pleasant disposition and his personality attracted to
him many sincere friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father and his
loss is an irreparable one to his dear ones. The bereaved family has the
sympathy of all.
