Hanson, Marko Juan (18 OCT 1942 - 4 MAR 2016)
Marko Juan Hanson, 73, Town of Prentice, died at his home on Friday, March 4,
2016.
He was born on October 18, 1942, in Whitehall, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and
Mavis (Larson) Hanson.
He attended Wisconsin State University in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and then the
University of Montana where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree.
He was married to Linda Johnson in Whitehall, Wisconsin, in May of 1964. He was
employed as a Forester by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources his
entire working career, primarily in the Mercer, Wisconsin, area, retiring in
2002. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Phillips, and of the
American Society of Foresters.
In his free time he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking and hunting, travel
with a great fondness for the West, was an avid horse person, and enjoyed the
company of his dog, Tory.
He is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Rita), River Falls, Wisconsin, by three
grandchildren, Shane, Tyler, and Addison, by his mother, Mavis, Pigeon Falls,
WI; by one brother, Rolf (Elizabeth), Holman, WI; and by one sister, Mary (Ron)
Dean, Chippewa Falls, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, in 1995,
and is also preceded in death by his father, Robert.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, March 12, at the
Trinity Lutheran Church in Phillips with Pastor John Trewyn officiating. Friends
may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
Interment will be in the Town of Lincoln Cemetery in Whitehall, Wisconsin.
