Kiraly, Robert Dean (11 April 1930 - 4 March 2016) With Flag
Robert Dean Kiraly, 85, of rural Stanley, died Friday March 4, 2016, at home
under the care of St. Joseph Hospice with his family by his side. He was born on
April 11, 1930, at home to the late Frank and Rose (Bernath) Kiraly. Dean was
raised in the Town of Thorp and graduated from Stanley High in 1948. He then
served in the Army during the Koran Conflict from 1949-1952.
Dean returned home and on July 22, 1951, and was united in marriage to
Jacqueline Knapp at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd. Dean took over the
family farm in the Town of Thorp and has been there since. Dean was a member of
the Knights of Columbus and All Saints Parish. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards
and going to the casino. Dean was a quiet strong man that fully appreciated his
family and all that his Lord blessed him with. He embraced the farming lifestyle
until two years ago when illness made it difficult to do, and was proud of that
heritage.
He is survived by his children: Karen (Tom) Johnson and Luann Hofkes, both of
Eau Claire, Bob Kiraly, Linda (Roy) Fredrickson, John (Sue) Kiraly and Kim (Greg
Steinke) Kiraly all of Stanley; 12 grandchildren: Nicole (Mat) Holmes, Peter
(Virginia) Johnson, Melissa (Gregg) Krug, Adam (Andrea Stensen) Hofkes, Charlie
(Tracy Krugmann) Hofkes, Kayla (Roger) Weltzin, Deanne (Adam) LeTendre, Aaron

and Matt Mahal; 14 great-grandchildren: Bryor, Bowen, Braydon, Olivia, Oliver,
Raeleigh, Riley, Carter, Jaxen, Abby, Tyler, Gannon, Chloe and Bryce.
Dean is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie (2010); a son-in-law, Robert
Hofkes; six brothers; and four sisters: Anne Baldeshwiler, Rose Murkowski,
Marion Nerdrum and Irene Monahan.
A funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Holy

services Wednesday at the funeral home.
