Two members of the Greenwood FFA Chapter will be among the 280 FFA members in Wisconsin who will receive the State Farmers Degree at the Annual State Convention of the Future Farmers of America to be held at the American Baptist Assembly, Green Lake, on June 8, 9, 10, and 11. Local members receiving the award will be William Herr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Herr, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and William Jordan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Jordan, Willard. Candidates are selected on the basis of their Farming Program, Scholarship, Leadership Activities and Cooperative Activities in which they have participated. Winning of this degree represents the highest award that can be achieved in the Future Farmer organization on a state basis.

William Herr took vocational agriculture for four years, during which time he has been active in FFA activities, serving the past year as secretary of the local chapter. He has participated in various judging contests, being a member of the first place poultry judging in the County Judging Contest, and also has participated in the State Judging Contest. At the recent graduation exercises, he was awarded the DeKalb Agricultural Award, which is present annually to the graduating senior who has done outstanding work in vocational agriculture.
