Brumbaugh, C.J. (20 SEP 1876 – 1 JUN 1959)
Funeral services for C.J. Brumbaugh, 82, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June
4, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Watertown, S.D. He passed away at a
hospital of old age complications on June 1, 1959.
Mr. Brumbaugh was born September 20, 1876 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He grew up in
Davenport, Iowa and was united in marriage there to caroline Ruebling on March
16, 1904.
They moved to Kampeska, S.D. in 1911 and in 1923 moved to Wisconsin. They spent
various years in Drummond, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Kenosha. In 1943
they moved to Watertown, S.D., where they have lived since.
Mr. and Mrs. Brumbaugh celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on March 16th
of this year.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. R.V. (Helen) Sievert and Mrs.
Tom (Betty) Minor of Watertown, S.D.; three sons, Harold of Cheyenne, Wyoming;
Edwin, Greenwood, Wisconsin and Donald, Marshfield, Wisconsin, and 15
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one granddaughter, two
sisters and one brother.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brumbaugh, Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Brumbaugh
attended the funeral.
