Lehmann, Mr. and Mrs. William (Golden - 3 May 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. William A. Lehmann of Granton will observed their 50th wedding
anniversary Sunday, June 9, with an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. at Bali Hai
Supper Club.
William Lehmann and the former Miss Edna M. Brumm were married May 3, 1924, in
the parsonage of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kenosha, by the Rev. C. Bunger.
Following their marriage, the couple lived in Kenosha for three years, where he
was employed.
From Kenosha, they moved to Tigerton and farmed for several years, then came to
Clark County and farmed for 15 years before buying a home on the north side of
Granton.
Both have been members of Zion Lutheran Church for over 30 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Lehmann are parents of seven children. They are Col. Raimon Lehmann
of Frankfurt, Germany; Mrs. Rudy (Delores) Dageforde of St. Paul, Mn.; James R.
Lehmann of Louisville, Ky., Dr. Elroy Lehmann of Tripoli, Libya; Mrs. Gene
(June) Miller of Grand Island, Nb.; Mrs. Mel (Gladys) Smith of Appleton; and mrs.
Carole Fox of Minneapolis, Mn. There are 15 grandchildren.
Mr. Lehmann worked as a janitor at the Granton Public School for 18 years. now
semi-retired, he works several hours daily at a Granton gas station.
Mrs. Lehmann was employed as a cook at the Granton School for 15 years and
retired from that position at the end of the 1973 school term. Nowadays, she is
busy with her garden, in addition to her hobbies of crocheting and sewing. She
has served as president of the Zion Ladies Aid and is presently its vice
president. She has also been president of the Romadka Homemakers Club, of which
she continues as a member, and recently completed a two-year term as president
of the Granton Women’s Civic Club. She is now program chairman of that
organization.
The Lehmanns enjoy traveling, and plan to do more of it in the future.
