Kavanaugh, James Thomas (24 MAY 1873 – 12 SEP 1959)
James Thomas Kavanaugh was born in Harwick, Scotland on May 24, 1873 and came to
the United States with his parents in 1885. The family settle in Indiana.
Mr. Kavanaugh, who made his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Gerry Hanlan in Gary, Indiana, came to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) about three
weeks ago to visit his son, Wm. Kavanaugh and family. On August 30, he suffered
a stroke and was taken to Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.
He passed away at the hospital on Saturday, September 12, 1959. The body was
brought to the Hill Funeral Home, Greenwood. On Sunday, September 13h Mr. Hill
took the body to Gary, Indiana.
A requiem Mass was read in Gary on Wednesday, September 16th. Burial was made in
Gary.
Mr. Kavanaugh is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gerry (Dora) Hanlan, Gary,
Indiana; two sons, William, Greenwood; Vernon, East Chicago, Indiana; three
granddaughters and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1956, and a son, James Jr., in
July 1954.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kavanaugh and son James, and Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger
attended the funeral.
