Lyon, Luetta (10 JUN 1867 – 1 SEP 1959)

Mrs. William Lyon, nee Luetta Cray (for Gray), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parks Cray (or Gray), was born at Alma Center on June 19, 1867. Here she grew to womanhood and received her education

In 1901 she was united in marriage to William Lyon at Alma Center. They resided there until 1921, when they came to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) and operated a restaurant with their son Archie and wife Lucille. Mr. Lyon passed away on April 9, 1938. She continued to make her home with her son Archie and family, and when they moved to Riplinger, she accompanied them and lived with them until 1953, when she entered the Bethel Convalescent Home at Arpin.

Mrs. Lyon passed away at Arpin on Tuesday, September 1, 1959. The body was brought to the Hill Funeral Home, Greenwood, where services were held on Friday, September 4th at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Ethel Nulton, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was made in a cemetery near Alma Center.

During the services Mrs. Fred Hohl and Miss Joanne Peterson sang "Jesus, Lover of my Soult" and "Abinde with Me," accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Olson at the organ.

The pallbearers were Fred Behrens, Elmer Johnson, Edwin Finkel and her three grandsons, Harold, William and Gerold Lyon.

Mrs. Lyon is survived by her son, Archie, a daughter-in-law, Lucille Lyon, Riplinger; three grandsons, Harold, Phillips; Wm., Greenwood; and Gerold, Riplinger; six great-grandchildren, one brother, Morty Gray (Cray), address unknown.
