Art Petke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Petke Sr., Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), a
member of the Greenwood FFA Chapter for four years, and a June graduate of the
Greenwood High School, has been awarded a $200 Clark-Taylor County Bankers
Scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin Agricultural Short Course,
which began its term on Monday, November 16th, 1959.
The Farm Short Course has trained young men for farming every fall and witner
for the past 75 years and more than 12,000 students have enrolled. The course is
divided into 3 five week terms and is conducted by the regular staff of the
College of Agriculture. Over 50 courses in all phases of modern farming are
available. Art joins four other farm youths from Clark and Taylor County in
attending the Short Course, who won similar scholarships.
