Janda, Minnie E. (Kloth) (17 AUG 1922 - 25 MAR 2015)
Minnie E. Janda, age 92, of 135 S. Gibson Street, Medford, a former Township of
Browning Resident, died on Wednesday, March 25 at the Aspirus Care and Rehab,
Medford where she had resided for the past 5 ½ years and under the care of Hope
Hospice.
A funeral mass was held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 31 at the Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Medford, with Father Joseph and Deacon Joe Stefancin
officiating. Cremainal interment will take place at a later date in Holy Rosary
Catholic Cemetery, Medford.
Pallbearers are Tom and Tim Janda, David Eckert, Fred Berger, Charles Kloth and
Matt Jari.
Visitation will be at 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Tuesday, March 31 at the Holy
Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
Minnie was born on August 17, 1922 at the Gad Cheese Factory, Town of Bern;
Marathon County, to Edward and Edna (Schlais) Kloth.
She attended Gad Grade School and is a 1940 graduate of Medford High School.
On August 16, 1941, in Chicago, she married Alvin “Bub” H. Janda. He preceded
her in death on April 28, 2011.
Moved to Chicago for two years and worked as a mother’s helper. After their
marriage, they moved back to the Medford area, where they owned and operated a
dairy farm in the Town of Browning until 1989. Minnie was an obstetrics nurse
tech for 35 years at the Memorial Health Center. She enjoyed painting, where she
took lessons at Joe Obrien’s School of Art. She enjoyed taking trips with the
Homemakers Tour Group and her husband and grandchildren. Minnie also taught
leatherwork in the 4-H. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Holy
Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
She is survived by an adopted son, Daniel (Rhonda) Janda, of the Town of
Browning, and fostered children; grandchildren, Tom (Pam) Janda, Julie (Fiance
Fred Berger), Tim (Missy) Janda and Jill (David) Eckert; great grandchildren,
Braxton Janda, Braden Janda, Sierra Berger, Kyana Janda, Karly Eckert and
Kassidy Koncel; siblings, Fred (Lynette) Kloth of Wausau and Alvin (Rosie) Kloth
of Medford; sisters-in-law, Adeline Kloth of Medford and Janet Kloth of Merrill.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Edna (Schlais) Kloth; sons David
and Kenneth Janda; siblings, Edward, Elmer and Roland Kloth, Lillian Weiland,
Carolyn Clark and Marion Kloth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Minnie’s family to be designated at
a later date
