Fainter, Leona (Becker) Johnas (28 FEB 1943 - 2 MAR 2016)
Leona (Johnas) Fainter, 73, Merrill, passed away at her home under the care of
Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice on March 2, 2016.
She was born on February 28, 1943 to Otto and Elsie Anne (Prisuda) Becker.
She is survived by her mother Elsie Ann Becker; two daughters, Brenda Johnas,
Merrill and Teri (Chris) Schipper, Ankeny, IA; her son, Rudy Johnas, Merrill;
her lifelong friend, James Johnas, Medford; daughter-in-law, Julie Johnas,
Merrill; one sister, Georgia (Len) Symoniak, Rib Lake; eleven grandchildren, and
ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Otto Becker, her husband, Paul Fainter
and her son, Jimmy Johnas.
Leona was a loving woman who was loved by so many. She was known among her
family and friends to be a very kind, compassionate and a forgiving woman. She
was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed spending her time spreading God's
word.
Leona lived a very wonderful life. She was fortunate to have four children with
her first husband and was later blessed with eleven beautiful grandchildren. In
more recent years, she was proud to be promoted as a great-grandmother. She most
enjoyed her time with family and friends. Even during her last few days, she
cherished her time with loved ones. She was known to be the first call for
anybody when guidance and directions were needed for both cooking and
navigation. She loved to spend her free time watching sports. Fall to her, was
for the Badgers and Packers.
Throughout her life, Leona was anything from a shoe maker to a vacuum sales
woman.
She most treasured her years as an owner/operator truck driver where she met her
second husband. Leona traveled the country with him for many years and gained an
abundance of knowledge from all she saw and did.
At this time there will be no funeral services. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society
is assisting the family at this time. Online condolences can be made at
