Anderson, Viola B. (Neumueller) (12 MAY 1922 - 23 SEP 2011)

Viola B. Anderson, age 89, of 135 S. Gibson Street Medford, died on Friday, September 23 at the Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center, Medford where she had resided for the past 3½ years.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford, with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen II Cemetery, Medford.

Honorary pallbearer is Debbie Goerg; active pallbearers are Brad, Travis and Trevor Paulsrud, Mitchel Goerg, Brent and Troy Anderson.

Visitation will be at 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 27 at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 28 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford.

Viola was born on May 12, 1922, in the Town of Chelsea, to Rudolph H. and Helen C. (Schwaubenhausen) Neumueller. She attended Whittlesey Grade School.

On December 11, 1943, in Medford, she married Paul B. Anderson. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2006.

Viola worked at Ed’s IGA in Downtown Medford for a period of time and also did bookkeeping for the Paul B. Anderson Corporation, which was owned by her husband and son. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, canning, dancing and doing crossword puzzles. In her later years Viola liked playing bingo and listening to polka music. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford and Immanuel Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her children, Carol Goerg of Medford; Duane (Mary Lou) Anderson of Medford; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings Arnold Neumueller of Menomonee Falls; Harold and Melvin Neumueller both of Medford; Ralph (Ginny) Neumueller of Wausau; Vern (Mary Ellen) Neumueller of Garden Prairie, IL; Dorothy (Jim) Broeren of Minocqua; and Esther (Clarence) Schafman of Rockford, IL.

She is predeceased by her parents, Rudolph H. and Helen C. (Schwaubenhausen) Neumueller; siblings Harvey; Arlene Anderson and Edna in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made in Viola’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 420 Lincoln Street, Medford, Wisconsin 54451.
