Margie Dillenbeck, 14 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dillenbeck, Route
2, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and an 8th grade pupil of the Eaton Center State
Graded School, won first place at Eau Claire on Saturday, February 6, 1960, in
the area contest of the Soil Conservation Speaking Contest in the Junior
Division.
Margie won first place in December at the contest in Neillsville.
A recording was made of her 9 1/2 minute speech, without notes, and is being
sent to the state contest at Madison. The State Secretary who receives these
recordings, is Ingvald Hembre, a former Greenwood boy and graduate of our high
school in 1918.
Margie's many local friends hope she will win a place at the state.
