Mr. and Mrs. Louis Henchen and family and his mother, Mrs. Imogene Henchen,
spent the weekend in Sussex where they visited his sister and brother-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. David Sinner and family. While there, they attended the wedding of
his cousin’s daughter, Miss Judy Frakes and Jay Meininger on Saturday and the
confirmation of his nephew, Kenton Sinner, son of the David Sinners, on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Free of Rt. 1 Neillsville, entertained Sunday with a dinner
and supper in honor of the sixth birthday of their son, David. Guests were
David’s great-aunts: Mrs. Jerry Grand of Milwaukee and Minnie Searls of
Neillsville; his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Drescher of Neillsville and
Mrs. Herb Free of Loyal; and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Ottelia Hoeft of
Granton.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Champoux, Mabel Gallagher, Mrs. Ted Schultz, Mr. and Mrs.
Hallie Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trimberger, Mr. and Mrs. James West, Zettie
Young and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zille gathered recently at the home of Della Botnen
to review the Wisconsin picnic held in Arizona this past winter.
Bradley Goetz and Marilyn Schoenherr, eighth grade graduates of St. John’s
Lutheran School, were honored at a dinner and supper at the home of Mrs. Adeline
Schoenherr, May 26. Guests for the occasion were: Romey Goetz, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Knoop, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Knoop and family, Mrs. Ottillie Kunkel, Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Goetz and Lynette, all of Neillsville; Mrs. Jean Stalcup of
Lubbock, Tx., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spiegel and family of Granton, Miss Kay
Schoenherr of Marshfield and Miss Nela Stacy of Eau Claire.
James and Paul Drescher, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drescher, were confirmed
Sunday at the United Methodist Church. Those attending the confirmation dinner
were: Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Lezotte and family of Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. James
Foster of Hatfield, Mrs. Laura Drescher and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Drescher of the
Town of Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rowe of York Center and Mrs. Wayne Trimberger
and daughters of Neillsville. An open house for friends was held in the
afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Thacher and daughters, Lori and Jenny, of Cottage Grove, Mn,
spent several days visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukes.
Mrs. Elizabeth Crothers attended the recent graduation of her grandson, Conrad
Silverberg, from a Milwaukee high school.
Mr. and Mrs. James Miller and daughter, Noelle and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kipp, all
of Milwaukee, spent several days last week with their grandmothers, Mrs. Elenor
Kipp of Marshfield and Mrs. Marie Keller of Neillsville.
Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Lukas were their sons and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lukas and family of Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Schwellenbach and daughters, Marilyn and Kathy, of Durand
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. William Schwellenbach to celebrate William
Schwellenbach’s birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerhart Schroeder of Kenosha and Mrs. Agnes Hovorka of Racine are
visiting with Mrs. Marie Keller and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sternitzky.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Feuerstein, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burr, Edwin Freund and
Florentine Nosbisch attended funeral services in Riceville, Ia., Friday for the
late Fred Blake. Mr. Blake was an uncle of Mrs. Feuerstein, Mrs. Burr and Mr.
Freund.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lavene and Mrs. Hattie Forman spent Satruday evening with Mr.
and Mrs. Everett Shaw near Christie.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Diers, Linda and Cheri attended the wedding of Miss Beth
Ann Brown and Randy Schultz Friday evening, May 31, at Colby. Linda was maid-of-
honor at the wedding.
Lee Keller, who was called to Neillsville by the death of Charles Maegdefessel,
returned to his home in Los Angeles, Ca. Wednesday.
