Arlyn Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Mills of Owen has been appointed as Superintendent of the Clark Co. Hospital. The appointment was made by the Board of Trustees and will be effective January 1, 1971.

Mr. Mills has been Assistant Administrator at the Clark county Hospital since June 1, 1966. He will succeed his father, Calvin Mills, who is retiring December 31.

Mr. Mills is well qualified for the position, having majored in the field of Special Education for Mentally Retarded following his graduation from the Owen High School in 1958. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1962 and a Master of Science in 1966 from the Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire.

He also served as a teacher of the mentally and physically handicapped and was responsible for the education program of orthopedic children at Northern Wisconsin Colony and Training School, Chippewa Falls. He was also Supervisor of Vocation Training at Northern Colony, responsible for work placement of 700 patients.

His work at the Clark county Hospital included the development and supervision of treatment and nursing aspect of patient care and rehabilitation.

Mr. Mills is also active in the community, serving as President of the Clark County Mental Health Association, and Chairman of the Clark County Committee on Drug Abuse.

He is Secretary-Treasurer of the Owen-Withee Development Corporation and a member of the Citizens’ Building Committee and sub-committee for Future Programming of the Owen-Withee School system.

Mr. Mills also received several scholarship while attending college, was honored with a State Merit Award by Governor Knowles and active in the Mental Health and Rehabilitation Programs during his college years and following his employment at the County Hospital. His accomplishments makes him a highly qualified successor as Administrator.

Mr. Mills is married to the former Mary Loris Lazeski, who is a graduate of the Spencerian School of business, Milwaukee.

They have two children, Susanne 7, and David 5. They reside at 403 Altenberg Avenue, Owen, Wisconsin.
