Schofield, Lee (25 JAN 1890 – 8 SEP 1970)
Lee Schofield, 80, route 1, Spencer, , died Tuesday afternoon at St. Joseph
Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the United Methodist
Church. Officiating was the Rev. Bernie Scott, and burial was made in the West
Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Virgil Seefeld, Dennis Seefeld, Rodney
Fischer, Roger Sook, Bruce Smith, and Steven Washkuhn. Mrs. Norman Kasper sang
“There is a City Four-Square” and “Heaven is My Home,” accompanied by Mrs.
Darrell Roder.
Mr. Schofield was born January 25, 1890 in the town of Unity (Clark Co., Wis.).
He was married December 19, 1914, to the former Belle Hulce. Mr. Schofield had
lived his entire life on the Schofield farm on route 1, Spencer. He ahd retired
in 1955 and continued to make his home there.
He was a former town clerk of the town of Unite, and also a former assessor. He
served on the Groveside School Board, and was a member of the United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include his wife, seven daughters, Mrs. Flossie Sook, Schofield; Mrs.
Norman (Nola) Seefeld, Spencer; Mrs. Ray (Betty) Fischer, Riplinger; Mrs. Rossir
(Jeanne) Murray, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Mrs. Howard (Vera) Smith, Camp Douglas;
Mrs. Orval (Beulah) Washkuhn, Cudahy; and Miss Myrtle Schofield, Minocqua; a
son, Raymond Schofield, Spencer; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by a son, a daughter, a brother, and a sister.
