Ladd, Ilean Anna (4 November 1919 - 22 March 2016)

Ilean Ladd, 96, of Neillsville died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Ilean Anna Harringa was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Titonka, IA, the daugher of Harm and Minnie (Senne) Harringa. She attended school in Titonka and then did housework for families in the area. She was united in marriage to Robert K. Ladd Aug. 17, 1948, in Mankato, MN. After they were married, they worked at a canning factory in Blue Earth, MN, and then farmed in Forest City, IA, until 1958, when they moved to Wisconsin and farmed in the Globe area.

She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing and making quilts. Making doughnuts was a specialty of hers, and she would hand them out at Halloween to both children and adults.

She is survived y her husband, Robert; three children: Audrey Bonney of Wisconsin Rapids, Lynda Hilliard of Neillsville and Dale (Janice) Ladd of Neillsville; seven grandchildren: Darlene (William) Dhein, Robert (Tammy) Marek, Kevin (Roberta) Bonney, Travis Ladd, Mathew Ladd, Shannon Ladd and Cody Ladd; seven great-grandchildren: William Dhein Jr., Ashlea Dhein, Nicole Marek, Michael Marek, Kordell Bonney, Kourtney Bonney and Dakota Bonney; a brother, Eugene (Aurilla) Harringa of Cedar Falls, IA; a sister, Marcella Mahon of Leona Valley, CA; brothers-in-law,: Ronald Ladd of Modesto, CA and Brock Walden of Forest City, IA; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Persho of Zearing, IA, and Thelma Widdel of Chester, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harm and Minnie Harringa, sons-in-law: Kenneth Bonney and Jerold Peterson; a great-grandson, Brandon Barney; and siblings: John Harringa, Dick Harringa, Martha Schwartz, Louise DeVries, Lorraine Siefken, Leta Davis, Harold Harringa and Bernice Pebbles.

Funeral services for Ilean were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe, with visitation one hour prior to the service, Pastor John Warmuth officiated. Music was provided by Karen Warmuth, organist. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Honorary casket bearer was Matthew Ladd.

Casketbearers were: William Dhein Sr., William Dhein Jr., Robert Marek, Michael Marek, Kordell Bonney and Travis Ladd.
