May, Maurice Otto (16, February 1924 - 27 March 2016) With Flag
Maurice May, 92, of Milwaukee died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the Union Grove
Veteran’s Home in Union Grove.
Maurice Otto May was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Pine Valley Township, the son of
Otto and Margaret (Dux) May. He attended North Side Grade School and Neillsville
High School. He served overseas in the United States Army from Aug. 16, 1945 to
Jan. 25, 1947. While he was in the service, he was united in marriage to Roselyn
Lipke. When he returned home, he worked for the Joe Zilk Gas Station. In 1955,
he moved to Milwaukee and worked for 36 years for Advanced Express as a truck
driver. Maurice was a member of the Loving Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church
in Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one sister, Esther Volz; and
three brothers: Walter, Lester and Roland May.
Funeral services for Maurice will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at
the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor John Warmuth
will officiate. Music will be provided by Judy Trunkel, organist. Interment will
be in the Neillsville City Cemetery with military honors performed by the
Neillsville Veteran’s Council. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday
at the church.
