Witte, Lucille (4 JUN 1909 – 10 OCT 1970)

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, for a former Granton resident, Mrs. Erhart Witte, 61, of Birchwood and New Port Richey, Florida.

The Rev. Dale Trimberger, Poysippi, officiated and burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Hoarce Hack, Ed Boettcher, William Morley, Walter Trimberger, John Hammond and William Noedler.

Mrs. Roger Helm sang “I Know that My Redeemer Lives” and “Asleep in Jesus, Blessed Sleep,” accompanied by Mrs. Leland Garbisch, organist.

The congregation sang “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” and “Forever with the Lord.”

The former Lucille Raditz was born June 4, 1909 in Nelson, Wisconsin and received her education in Pepin, Wisconsin.

Her marriage took place November 28, 1928 in Minneapolis. The couple came to Granton, where they operated a general store. He sold the business in 1945 and in 1955 her husband became postmaster at Granton (Clark Co., Wis.). After his retirement the couple moved to Birchwood in 1966 and had spent the winter months in Florida. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, New Port Richey, Florida.

Mrs. Witte died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield on October 10, 1970, after a several months’ illness.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Robert, Minneapolis; two grandchildren and a brother, Lloyd Raditz, Pepin, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant son.
