Mrs. Archie Thompson was hostess to the meeting of Arla’s Garden Club at her home Thursday afternoon, Oct. 15. Mrs. Pauline Justman of Colby was the guest speaker. Her topic was Autumn. Routine business was conducted. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. John Johnson on November 20. Miss Anne Yahr will talk on “A bushel of garden hints.”

Four members of the club attended the Fall Conference of Central District Garden Clubs at Loyal Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 13. They were Miss Anne Yahr, Mrs. Herman Francen, Mrs. Dora Ewert and Mrs. Alma Edblom.

The LCW of Trinity Lutheran Church met in the church parlors, Wednesday night, October 14, for family night.

Pastor Robert Sutherland conducted the program, Sing a New Song, that showed the changing attitude of worship and music in the church.

A public dinner was planned for November 12.

The Lutheran World Relief Clothing Drive takes place during the month of November. Boxes of clothing may be left in the church basement.

There will be an election of officers in November.

The birthday song was sung for Mrs. Esther Olson, Mrs. Herman Francen and Mrs. Adolph Rabehl.

November hostesses will be Mrs. Seymour Gustafson, Mrs. Elmer Hetsten and Mrs. Richard Keuhling.

Mrs. Gustave Carlson accompanied Mrs. Lois Carlson to Eau Claire Friday to get Karen Carlson, who attends the State University there. Karen spent the weekend at her home here.

The Enterprise Homemakers met at the home of Mrs. Adolph Rabehl Friday afternoon, October 16. Visitors were Mrs. Sheldon Lynn and Mrs. Gordon Lynn. Roll call was answered by giving a favorite recipe of your nationality. A Christmas Party was planned for December 13. A dinner will be served at the Brighton Town Hall at 12:30, followed by games and a gift exchange. Mrs. Dora Ewert gave the lesson on the Land of Wooden Shoes. The birthday song was sung for Mrs. Madge Bennett and Mrs. Rabehl. Games and prizes were provided by Mrs. Frank Meyer.

The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Dora Ewert, November 17.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lynn and family, and Mrs. William Hirner, Wendy and Jason, all of Milwaukee, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lynn Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lynn Jr. All were Sunday dinner guests at the Gordon Lynn Jr. home in honor of the 12th birthday of Gregory Lynn.

Gilbert Wiedenhoeft, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Forbish of Colby, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Guenther at Merrill on Sunday.
