Olson, Diane Elaine (26 SEP 1970)
Marriage vows were exchanged at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greenwood, on
September 26, 1970, at 2:30 p.m. between Miss Diane Elaine Olson, Route 3,
Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Olson, and Mr.
Wayne A. Nielsen, Route 2, Greenwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aage Nielsen.
Rev. David Wegner performed the ceremony. The soloist was Mrs. David Schroeder,
and Mr. Gerald Olson played the organ.
The bride was given in marriage by her father in an organza semi-sheath gown
with white satin ribbon backing Venice lace, with panels running through the
front of the bodice and skirt. The lace also styled the high neckline, and cuffs
of the three quarter Camelot sleeves and center of the detachable chapel train.
A cluster of organza flowers held her cathedral headpiece.
Sandy Olson, La Crosse, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Donald bowe,
Milwaukee; Miss Sharon Nielsen, and Mrs. Duane Olson, both of Greenwood. They
wore skirts of an A-line styling in brown, orange, gold and moss green chiffon.
The bodice of the gowns were of beige Venice accenting the high ruffled neckline
with a ruffle extending down the front and centered with matching satin buttons.
The long bishop sleeves had ruffles bordering the cuffs. A wide satin colored
belt and bow accented the empire waist. They wore matching colored satin bow
headpieces. They each carried a bouquet of all colored pompons.
Miss Amy Nielsen was the flower girl and Jeffrey Olson the ring bearer.
Mr. Roger Nielsen served as best man, and the groom’s attendants were Richard
Olson, Glenwood City, Wisconsin; Pete Bogdonovich, Greenwood; Lee Meinholdt,
Milwaukee.
Ushers were Duane Olson and George Aulenbacher.
A reception followed the wedding ceremony and was held at the American Legion.
Supper was held at the church parlors and a dance in the evening at the Silver
Dome Ballroom, Neillsville.
The bride has been employed at Figi Inc., Marshfield.
The couple will make their home on Route 2, Greenwood, where the groom is
engaged in farming.
They will take a wedding trip through the western states.
