Dyrcz, Helen Alvira (Zuther) (1 NOV 1927 - 20 MAR 2016)

Helen Alvira Dyrcz, age 88, of Woodland Court, Merrill, passed away on Sunday March 20, 2016 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, where she had been a resident for 6 years.

A private funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Lake, with Pastor Joseph Dietrich officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake. Helen’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Helen was born on November 1, 1927 in Rib Lake, to Max Julius and Hermine L. (Hengst) Zuther. She is a graduate of Rib Lake High School.

Helen married Joseph J. Dyrcz on June 7, 1947 in Rib Lake. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2007.

Following high school, Helen briefly worked in Milwaukee, then returned to Rib Lake and worked at the Medford Hospital as a nurse’s aide. Helen ran the family dairy farm, while her husband Joseph was driving truck over the road. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed traveling. She will always be remembered for her fantastic cooking, visitors would never leave her home hungry. Helen was a lady of style and grace and that was expressed in herself, her family and her home. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren; Helen put her heart and soul into everything she did. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Lake.

Helen is survived by her childen, Lynn (Maureen) Dyrcz of West Bend, Judith (Carl) Blennert of Merrill, Joseph Dyrcz of Los Angeles, CA, Faith (James) Seidel of West Bend, Jeffrey Dyrcz of Modesto, CA, and Brian (Michelle) Dyrcz of Medford; grandchildren Breck (Bryanna) Blennert, Craig (Robin) Seidel, Scott (Kelly) Dyrcz, Kari Jo (Harley) Davidson, Lori Dyrcz, Amber (Mike) Gariety, Derek (Mandi) Seidel, Marc (Shaunna) Dyrcz, Crystal Dyrcz, Jay Dyrcz, Amanda Dyrcz; 13 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by siblings Iline “Toots” Budimlija, Marlin (Carol) Zuther, Donald (Loretta) Zuther; and by 6 nieces and nephews.

Helen is predeceased by her parents, Max Julius and Hermine L. (Hengst) Zuther and infant brother, Marvin Zuther.

Memorial donations in honor of Helen Dyrcz may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
