Konieczny, Stanley H. (6 JAN 1926 - 2 APR 2016)

Stanley H. Konieczny, age 90, of 132 S. 7th St. Apt. D-3, Medford, a former Town of Hixton and Redville area resident, died on Saturday, April 2 at Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford where he had resided for the past 1 week, most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.

Per his request, there will be no services. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 3-7 PM on Saturday, April 16 at the Holway Town Hall, Township of Holway.

Interment of his cremated remains will take place at the Maplehurst Cemetery, Township of Maplehurst at a later date.

Stanley was born on January 6, 1926 at Thorp, WI, to Frank George and Sophie (Haider) Konieczny.

He attended Thorp area schools.

On September 30, 1950, at Hortonville, WI, Stanley married Adala A. Collar, she survives.

He was a US Marine Corps veteran of WW II having served from December 1943 to February 1946. They farmed in the Town of Hixton, Clark County for a period of years. While farming, he also worked at Master Package in Owen and Weather Shield Mfg. in Medford until retirement. He enjoyed camping with family, chatting and reminiscing about being in the service, spending time with his grandchildren/great grandchildren, his Thursday night Social Club, and in his earlier years, he liked to hunt and fish. He is a former VFW member.

Stanley is survived by his spouse, Adala A. Konieczny of Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford; children Kathleen (Bill) Semanko of Junction City, Kansas, Karen (Lee) Paul of Medford, Linda (Don) Horgen of Almena, WI, Judith Bogdonovich of Stanley, Ronald (Sally) Konieczny of Owen; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren; siblings Agnes Rohland of Colby; and George (Jo Anne) Konieczny of Marshfield.

He is predeceased by his parents, Frank George and Sophie (Haider) Konieczny; siblings Margaret Rohland; Frank, Leon and Tom Konieczny.
