A surprise birthday party was held for Mrs. Mary Jasurda of Phillips, for her
75th birthday, November 28th, 1970, at the Legion Hall in Greenwood (Clark Co.,
Wis.). The day started with an 11:00 Mass in her honor at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Greenwood. Father Matthew Malnar officiated. Servers were three
grandsons, Tom and Don Jasurda of Phillips, Tom Zepaltas and Allen Brux of
Greenwood. Granddaughters and friends sang in the choir.
Mrs. Jasurda was presented with a corsage and large floral centerpiece, and her
family gave her a large rocker and she also received many other lovely gifts.
Ninety-six relatives and friends attended the dinner at the Legion Hall. The
afternoon was spent in dancing and visiting. Music was furnished by Joe Jasurda
and Dick Kesler.
Children are Joe Jasurda and Mrs. Rose Zepaltas, Greenwood; John Jasurda,
Addison, Illinois; Frank Jasurda, Phillips, Brother Cyprian of Lyle, Illinois;
Sister Benita of Naperville, Illinois and Emil Jasurda of Milwaukee.
Relatives and friends who attended from away were from Phillips, Milwaukee,
Chicago and suburbs, Shorewood and Eau Claire.
