McVean, Faith (2 JUN 1903 – 5 DEC 1970)
Mrs. Norman McVean, 67, of route 1, Spencer, died Saturday afternoon at Memorial
Hospital in Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).
Services were held Tuesday at the Jasperson Funeral Home. The Rev. Bervis A.
Scott of the United Methodist Church in Spender, officiated, and burial was made
in the West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Delbert Hutchins, Ronald Seefeldt,
Robert Keyes, Kenneth Mellenthin, Russell Freeman, and Dale Baldwin. Mrs. Norman
Kasper sang “Face to Face” and “In the Garden,” accompanied by Mrs. Darrell
Roder.
The former Faith Freeman was born June 2, 1903 in Chicago, and graduated from
Spencer High School. She had attended Oshkosh State University and was a
graduate of Stevens Point State University.
She was married June 2, 1925 in Marshfield to Norman McVean. The couple operated
a farm in the Spencer area and she taught in the Spencer schools for 14 years.
She was a member of the Spencer Women’s Club and the Methodist Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Shirley) Mondloch,
Manawa; two sons, Eugene, at home; and Richard, aboard the USS Meyerkord, in
Long Beach, California; four grandchildren and a brother, Harold Freeman,
Holcombe, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by one brother.
