Subke, Ella (Retirement -1974)

Mrs. Fred (Ella) Subke’s seven and one-half years as a social worker at Memorial Home came to a close last Wednesday afternoon when she was the guest of honor at at farewell party held in the recreation room there. Her retirement follows an extensive career of working with older persons, as Mr. and Mrs. Subke formerly operated the county home now known as the Bryan home for 11 ½ years.

Many Memorial Home residents and 17 members of the American Red Cross volunteers’ organization joined in the informal farewell observance. Coffee and cake were served.

Mrs. Subke was presented with the gift of a “brag book” from the volunteers and a gift of money from Memorial Home residents and the home activity directors.

Mrs. Fern Lewis will succeed Mrs. Subke as social worker at the home.
