Geisler, Mr./Mrs. Adolph (Gold – 4 MAY 1960)

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Geisler, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), former residents of Greenwood and the west side, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Owen on Sunday, May 8, 1960, by entertaining 36 relatives and friends at a buffet dinner and reception. A 3-tier wedding cake centered the table and was decorated with gold roses and bouquets of yellow daffodils. Golden leaves were presented to each guest.

Mrs. Geisler wore a corsage of yellow roses and Mr. Geisler a boutonniere of yellow carnations during the celebration. At the 2 to 5 p.m. receptions, Misses Betty, Caroline and Evelyn Geisler, granddaughters of the couple, were in charge of serving.

The Rev. Otto Saewert officiated at the marriage which took place in Greenwood on May 4, 1910.

Mr. Geisler was born on January 25, 1885 in the town of Warner (Clark Co.). He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Geisler, and received his education in the Braun Settlement School. His occupations have been farming, logging and carpentering in the Greenwood area.

Mr. Geisler was assessor of the town of Warner for a number of years. He enjoys good health and goes fishing and hunting.

Mrs. Geisler is the former Katherine Kuehn and was born on Oct. 6, 1891 in Dodge County to Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Kuehn. She was educated in the Decker School in the town of Warner and lived in the Greenwood area before her marriage. She also enjoys good health and her hobby is sewing.

Mr. and Mrs. Geisler are members of the West Side Reformed (United Church of Christ) Church. They farmed in the town of Warner except for the eyar 1943, when they resided in Owen. They then returned and farmed until their retirement in June of 1959.

The honored couple has two children, Norman Geisler of Owen, and Ervin Geisler of Greenwood. They have four grandchildren.
