Konieczny, Stanley H. (6 January 1926 - 2 April 2016) With Flag

Stanley H. Konieczny, age 90, of Medford, formerly of the Town of Hixon and Redville area, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Aspirus Care & Rehabilitation in Medford where he resided for the past week under the care of Hope Hospice.

Per his request, there will be no services. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Satruday, April 16, 2016, at the Holway Town hall. Interment will take place at the Maplehurst Cemetery at a later date.

Stanley was born on January 6, 1926, in Thorp, WI. He received his education in Thorp are schools. On September 30, 1950, he was united in marriage with Adala A. Collar at Hortonville, WI.

Stanley was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WWII, having served from December 1943 to February 1946. He and Adala farmed in the Town of Hixon for a period of years. While farming, he also worked at Master Package in Owen and Weather Shield Mfg. in Medford until retirement. He enjoyed camping with family, chatting and reminiscing about being in the service, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his Thursday night Social Club, and in his earlier years, he liked to hunt and fish. He is a former VFW member.

Stanley is lovingly survived by his wife, Adala, of Medford; his children: Kathleen (Bill) Semanko of Junction City, KX, Karen (Lee) Paul of Medford, WI, Linda (Don) Horgen of Almena, WI, Judith Bogdonovich of Stanley, WI and Ronald (Sally) Konieczny of Owen, WI; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Rohland of Colby, WI; one brother, George (Jo Anne) Konieczny of Marshfield, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Konieczny and Sophie Haider; one sister, Margaret Rohland; and brothers: Frank, Leon and Tom Konieczny.
