Luck, Pam (18 February 1948 - 27 March 2016)
Pam Luck, incredible wife and mother, bargain shopper, and traveler, passed away
on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, after a long, frustrating journey with
Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
She was born to Howard and Dorothy (Gerrits) Eslinger on February 18, 1948, in
Stanley, Wisconsin. Pam spent her childhood on the farm with her seven siblings.
Pam was named “Miss Stanley” in 1965, and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High
School in 1966. After high school, she went from farmer to fashion icon and
started calling Eau Claire her home. Due to her beauty, charm, and heart, Pam
was always a highly sought-after woman. Finally, Ron Luck was her heart. They
were married in 1975, and began a life of love, fun, and adventure together.
Ron and Pam constantly traveled together, which continued after they had
children. Pam devoted herself to motherhood in 1977, when Tory was born. She
went on to have Faron in 1981 and Natia in 1986. Pam’s love and commitment to
her children and grandchildren was indescribable. The Luck kids were raised to
be inventors, adventurers, independent and compassionate. Pam has always
radiated love and support for her children and everyone in her life. As her
children grew up, Pam was a known Avon Lady and Younkers associate. The Red Hat
ladies, her sisters, and friends were always there when Pam wanted a night on
the town or a day of thrift ‘sailing’.
After becoming empty-nesters, Ron and Pam continued to explore the world and
became snowbirds in Florida. Following her diagnosis, an incredible community
formed around Pam. There have been so many amazing individuals supporting Pam
along the way; thank you all for everything you have done for our family. Pam
will be greatly missed, but her optimism and smile will live on within all who
had the pleasure of knowing her.
Pam is survived by her husband, Ron Luck; her son and family, Tory, Beth, and
Devin; her son and wife, Faron and Thida; her daughter and fiancé, Natia and Lee
of Colorado; her step m daughter and family, Kym, Trevor, Kade and Olivia of
Colorado; brothers: Dave (Arlene), John (Terry), and Mark (Lorraine); sisters:
Brenda (Jim) Shakal of California, Janice (Neil) Rostvold, and Heidi (Shane)
Swope; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Pam was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Dorothy Eslinger;
brother, Bruce Eslinger; and her grandson, John Rodacker.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Jacobs Well,
3211 50th Avenue, Chippewa Falls, WI. Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery in
the Town of Washington. Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday
and one hour prior to service Friday, all at the church. In lieu of flowers, a
