Marten, Deborah Elise (12 DEC 1970)
On Saturday, December 12, 1970, wedding vows were exchanged between Deborah
Elise Marten of 314 Division Street, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and James Edward
Peterson of 136 So. Seventh Street, Eau Claire. The ceremony took place at the
St. John’s Lutheran Church and was performed by Rev. Roy B. Schmeichel.
The parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Marten of Loyal, and Mr. and
Mrs. Martin Rielhm of Eau Claire are the parents of the groom.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Soloist was Miss LaVonne Duszinski, accompanied by Mr. Oscar Waller on the
organ.
The bride was seen in a floor length gown with long puffy sleeves, scoop
scalloped neckline with lace over taffeta and little tiny pearls scattered over
the dress. It had an empire waist with chapel train veil to the floor of nylon
and lace.
The maid of honor was Miss Lynn Harris of Altoona, and the bridesmaids were Miss
Anita Peterson of Eau Claire and Miss Sandra Mickelson of Osseo. The flower girl
was Mary Spielman, Eau Claire.
They appeared in floor length deep forest green velvet dresses. They carried
long stemmed yellow roses. The flower girl’s dress was similar to the bride’s.
Best man for the occasion was Mr. Gary Peterson, Eau Claire, and the groomsmen
were Mr. Gary Marten, Eau Claire; Mr. David Lundberg, Osseo. Ring bearer was
Wayne Marten of Eau Claire.
The ushers were Richard Spielman and William Nelson.
The service was followed by a reception in the church basement.
The bride is a graduate of Altoona High School and her husband is a graduate of
Osseo High School, and is employed at Uniroyal in Eau Claire.
The couple will make their home at 107 11th Street in Eau Claire.
