The new pastor, Arvid Carl Myhrwold, of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, will take
over his duties on August 1, 1960.
Arvid Carl Myhrwold was born to Albert and Cora Myhrwold on a farm at Deronda,
Wisconsin, June 24, 1921. He was baptized into the Christian faith by Rev. S.
Romsdahl in the Deronda Lutheran Church on July 17, 1921, and confirmed in that
faith by Rev. H.W. Scobey on November 19, 1935. During the first seven years of
his life, he spent much time with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Jerdee, at
Deronda.
He completed the eight grades at Deronda State Grade School, and graduated from
Amery High School in 1938. From then until September 1949 he worked for his
father on his farm at Deronda.
In September 1949, believing that God was so leading, he matriculated at
Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, and he graduated in August 1952. On
April 9, 1950, while a student at Concordia, he was united in marriage to
Adeline V. Johnson of Clear Lake, Wisconsin. To this union have been born three
children: Deborah, on April 13, 1951; Peter, on January 31, 1953; and Kristine,
on March 4, 1955.
He has been serving the Midland, Deep Creek, Trinity and Immanuel congregations
at Midland, S.D.
