Syth, Rita Raye (13 AUG 1960)
On Saturday, August 13, 1960, Miss Rita Raye Syth, daughter of Mrs. Leona Syth,
became the bride of Norman C. Mayenschein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtiss
Mayenschein, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.0, at a 10:00 a.m. ceremony at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Greenwood. Rev. Father Edward Hartung, pastor, officiated. The
young ladies choir sang the Nuptial Mass. The altar was decorated in vari-colored
gladioli.
The bride wore a floor length gown styled by a lace bodice and lace panels down
the front and back of the skirt, with a chapel length train. She carried a
bouquet of yellow roses and a half crown held her elbow length veil.
Miss Geraldine Syth of Chicago was her sister's maid of honor, and bridesmaids
were Miss Sharon Larson of Milwaukee, Miss Mary Ann Snedic of Greenwood and Miss
Marlys Mayenschein of Thorp. The maid of honor wore white nylon over satin with
aqua embroidered flowers. Other attendants were similarly dressed in yellow.
They carried baskets of daisies to match their dresses.
Sherrie Syth and Pat Herrick were flower girl and ring bearer.
Leland J. Curly of Milwaukee was best man, and groomsmen were Frank Arch of
Greenwood, Jerry Bizjak and Leland Mayenschein of Milwaukee. Frank Trunkel, Will
Wise and Peter Lindner ushered.
Following the ceremony a dinner, reception and supper were served at St. Mary's
Hall.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of Greenwood High School. She has been
employed by the Farmers Store here and he by the Langfeldt Construction Co. in
Loyal.
They will reside in Greenwood.
