Bergemann, Otillia (4 OCT 1883 – 24 AUG 1960)
Otillia Breitenbach was born October 4, 1883 at Black Creek, Wisconsin and
received her education there and did millinery work there.
On June 19, 1905 she was married at Black Creek to Gustav Bergemann. They lived
there until 1908, when they moved to Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), where they
operated a hotel until 1916, when they moved to a farm north of Granton and
farmed until 1944, when they retired and moved to the village of Granton.
Mrs. Bergemann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Neillsville and St.
Cecelia's Circle of the Christian Mothers Society. She also was a member of
Romadka Homemakers Club. In June of this year the Bergemann's celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary with a family reunion.
Mrs. Bergemann passed away at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, on Wednesday,
August 24, 1960.
A Maas of Requiem was offered at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29th at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Neillsville.
Burial was made in the Neillsville St. Mary's Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, six sons, John, Neillsville; Marlowe, Clinton,
Mo.; Harold, Asheville, N.C.; Harlan, Greenwood; Erlin, Madison; and Grant,
Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Eilee) Davis, Janesville; 20
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Andrew (Theresa)
Streigel, Appleton.
Two brothers, William and Michael Breitenbach, preceded her in death.
