Bedroske, Howard H. (21 NOV 1930 – 14 APR 2016)
Howard H. Bedroske, age 85, of Colby, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on
Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Colonial Center in Colby surrounded in love by
his family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 18 , 2016 at St.
Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. The Reverend Gary Lodholz will officiate.
Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 17 and
from 9:30 AM until the time of service Monday all at the church. Burial will be
at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is
entrusted with the arrangements.
Howard was born on November 21, 1930, the son of Paul and Alma (Parge) Bedroske
on the family farm in Dorchester. He attended Barry School and graduated from
Dorchester High School. Howard was united in marriage on August 2, 1952 at Zion
Lutheran Church in Stetsonville to Myrtle Brecke. Together they farmed on the
family farm where they lived until retiring in 2012. He also drove milk truck
and gravel truck during that time.
Howard always trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was very active at St.
Peter Lutheran Church serving as an Elder and President, Dorchester Lions Club,
Lutheran Layman's League and the Midnite Riders Snowmobile Club. Howard was also
a member of Central WI Steam Engine Club. He enjoyed polka music, dancing, deer
hunting, motorcycles, snowmobiling and bowling. Howard dabbled in restoring old
tractors and his Model A. He also enjoyed socializing and being on both ends of
miscellaneous pranks. Anyone that knows Howard has a story to tell.
Howard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrtle; six children: David (Donell),
Russell (Judi), Loren, Kevin (Sue), Gary (Camala) and Colleen (Steve) Sprotte;
13 grandchildren: Amanda, Ryan (Sarah) Lucas (Caroline), Pat (Lynn), Josey
(Travis) Lueth, Benjamin, Emily (Ian) Zimmermann, Nicholas, Jacob, Maralyse and
Cassandra, Paul and Matthew Sprotte; nine great-grandchildren: Noah, August,
Paige, Henry, Adelaide, Sage, Hunter, Nolan, Samuel. He is further survived by
his sister, Arlene Paradies; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his special grandson, Ezra Sprotte and
a brother, Donald.
In lieu of flowers and plants, a Memorial Fund has been established in Howard's
name.
