Behlke, Donna M. (Peterson) Edwards Street (19 MAY 1939 - 5 APR 2016)

Donna M. Behlke, 76, of Fairchild, passed away Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Donna Mae Behlke, daughter of Laurence and Dorothy (Sickora) Peterson was born May 19, 1939 in Eau Claire. As a young child she lived in several places throughout the United States. While living in California she attended the same grade school as Marilyn Monroe and while in attendance was a playmate of Nancy Sinatra.

She had also lived in Ohio, as well as Detroit, Chicago and Milwaukee. For several years she lived with her Sickora grandparents in Cornell, before moving back to Milwaukee.

Donna was united in marriage to Donald Edwards on Oct. 29, 1955 in Milwaukee, to this union 6 children were born. Following their divorce she married Bobby Lee Street and was blessed with 2 more children. While married to Bobby, she moved with her family to northern Wisconsin in 1976, and since then had lived mostly in the Augusta and Fairchild area. In September of 1983 she married LaMoine Behlke and for the past 6 years had lived in her current apartment in Fairchild.

Donna’s life revolved around her family. After Donna’s sister died at an early age, Donna was raised as an only child but what she lacked in siblings she made up with her own large family. Donna’s children and their families meant the world to her and it wasn’t just their love she cherished but also their friendship. Never having a driver’s license didn’t stop Donna. Her family saw to it that she never missed out on anything; a shopping trip, attending thrift sales, family functions or traveling. In the past 10 years she traveled extensively throughout the United States, and was fortunate to have taken 2 cruises; an Eastern Caribbean and Southern Caribbean cruise. Donna enjoyed the pets she had during her life, having owned several dogs and cats, and was especially close to her current cat she called Pretty Boy.

Donna will be dearly missed by her 6 daughters, Marilyn Noggle (Dan Gorkowski), Cindy (Todd) Bertrang all of Fairchild, Debbie (David) Hagen of Eau Claire, Denice Edwards (Brian Hooker) of Fairchild, Sheila (Jerome) LePage of Withee, Leann (Mitch) Balliett of Augusta; son, Rodney (Staci) Street of Fairchild; several grand and great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Edwards and Bobby Street; son, Gerald “Jerry” Edwards; and sister, Bonnie Lou Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Dale Hazard officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
