Kauffman, Mr./Mrs. R.A. (Gold – 15 DEC 1970)
Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Kauffman, 510 Braxton Place, Alexandria, Virginia, celebrated
their fiftieth anniversary with about 50 relatives and friends in an operhouse
Sunday, December 13.
They were married December 15, 1920 at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) in the Methodist
Church, with the Rev. Chatterson officiating. They lived in Minneapolis,
Minnesota with the bride’s uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nutting, for ten days.
Visiting relatives, then returning to Loyal, where they lived with the bride’s
grandfather.
Mr. Kauffman built homes at Loyal, Neillsville and Madison, where he built
Bethel-El Temple, before coming to Annandale, Virginia. They have two sons,
Larry of Culpepper, Virginia, and Jerry of Vienna, Virginia; and one daughter,
Dr. H.R. (Jean) Arnold of East McKeesport, Peru.
Mr. Kauffman belonged to the Loyal Masonic Lodge for 47 years. Mrs. Kauffman
belonged to Eastern Star – RNA over 50 years. She helped organize the Women’s
Club and Child Health Center in Loyal.
They have eleven grandchildren and are members of Washington St. Methodist
Church in Alexandria, Virginia.
