Knoop, Donald F. (3 June 1928 - 10 April 2016)
Donald Knoop, 87, of Polo, Mo, died peacefully at his daughter’s home at Polo,
MO Sunday, April 10. He was born June 3, 1928, in the Township of Pine Valley,
the son of Frank and Alice (Korth) Knoop. He worked in the oil fields for many
years and later hauling cars. He then worked for the Warren Company of Waterloo,
IA, hauling farm machines all over the country. He also did other miscellaneous
trucking, making million miles accident free. After retirement in Polo, he did
wood crafts.
He married Mary Smith Sept. 22, 1949, in Montana. She preceded him in death Feb.
22, 2013.
Donald is survived by his daugher, Joyce (Jack) Simon; and grandsons, Don Simon
of Kingston, MO, and Heath Simon of Indiana. He is further survived by a
brother, Robert (Rose) Knoop of Neillsville; sisters: Florence (Robert) Spiegel
of Granton, Lois (Gale) Minsaas of Casper, WY, and Jean (Kenny) Goetz of
Neillsville; a sister-in-law Arlys Knoop of Neillsville; and many nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his wife, Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a sister,
Adeline Schoenherr; and a brother, Ervin Knoop.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Polo, MO.
