Kurtz, Leonard John (12 July 1930 - 20 April 2016) With Flag

Leonard John Kurtz, 85, of Neillsville passed away Wednesday, April 20, 12016, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Leonard was born July 12, 1930, to Peter and Alinda (Schachameier) Kurtz in West Bend, WI. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1948. After high school he served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and in the reserves from 1953 to 1956. He began repairing radios in high school and was a radio repairman in the service. He continued servicing TVs and radios until he retired. He moved to Neillsville in 1992.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 30 years, Norma Rizner; two children: Bern (Sandy) Kurtz and Chris (Jeff) Duncan; five grandchildren: Michael Kurtz, Peter Kurtz, Nicole Kurtz, Steven Kurtz and Jenni Duncan; and six great-grandchildren: Emily, Scarlett, Preston, Sammy, Michael and Joey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Viola Proeber.

Memorial services for Leonard will be held at a later date.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona, is assisting the family with arrangements.
