Jarocki, Casimir Marion (20 February 1929 - 18 April 2016) With Flag
Casimir Marion Jarocki (Casey), age 87, died peacefully on Monday, April 18,
2016, surrounded by his wife, children, siblings and grandchildren.
Casey was born on the family farm on February 20, 1929, in Thorp, WI, to Peter
and Victoria Jarocki. The day after graduating from Thorp High School in 1946,
Casey joined the Army Air Corps. His military career took him around the world,
but he met the love of his life, Dolores Sappa, in his hometown while on leave
there in 1954. They were married in 1955, and raised five children as they moved
all over the world with the Air Force. In his twenty-year career, Casey reached
the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant, and was only the second
airman to achieve this high honor at that time. After his retirement from active
service in 1966, Casey continued his as a radar technician as a civilian with
the federal service. He retired for good in 1991, and returned to Wisconsin to
live in Eau Claire.
Casey enjoyed an active life, including waterskiing, fishing, hunting, and later
in life, time with his grandchildren. He was an assistant Scoutmaster and very
proud to have eight Eagle Scouts in his family: two sons and six grandsons. He
was an expert cribbage player and taught all of his grandchildren to play the
game, enjoying many years of competition as they tried to get the best of
Grandpa. Few ever did.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; children: Jacquelyn (Jack) Holmquist
of Eagle River, Alaska, James (Kris) of Duluth, WI, John (Cindy) of Ironwood,
MI, Janice (Randy)Terry of Superior, WI and Julia of Duluth, Wi. Casey is also
survived by his grandchildren: Kevin, Kirsten, Kimberly, Alexander, Catherine,
Christopher, Andrew, Elizabeth, Casey, MacKenzie, Riley and Hayley; siblings:
Richard (Kathy) of Thorp, WI and Patricia (Gerald) Rickman of Neenah, WI;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Hedler (Sylvester) of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces
and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Marywood for their commitment and
compassion for Casey while he was in their care and Dr. Tim Kleinschmidt and Dr.
David McKee for their professional and dedicated commitment to helping Casey
over the past few years.
Visitation was from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016, in Elsing Chapel
