The above picture show Ernest Thieme, of the Senior Citizen's Home at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), celebrating his 90th birthday with a fifth generation cousin, Mrs. Ed Franz, also of Greenwood.
Mr. Thieme was born in Germany in 1871 and came to the United States alone in 1888. His parents followed three years later. Mr. Thieme married and they spent fifty-six years together where they resided north of Curtiss (Clark Co.). Two boys and a girl were born to them, but only one son is still living. Ernest reports that he has spent a total of seventy-three years in Clark County.
Six years ago, Mr. Thieme came to reside at the Senior Citizens Home in Greenwood. It was here that he celebrated his ninetieth birthday on July 29th, 1961 with friends and relatives. There was music and singing, and Mrs. Harvey Goeke played the accordion. Refreshments were served and all reported a most enjoyable evening. Congratulations to you, Mr. Thieme, and we wish you many more birthdays to come.
