Edwin G. Kippenhan, construction electrician shop apprentice, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Kippenhan of Route 2, Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, is now
stationed at Norfolk, Va. U.S. Naval Receiving Station for Transfer to MCB No.
4, Rota, Spain.
Kippenhan's station, commanded by Capt. V.A. Blandin, U.S. Navy, is an
intermediate Navy Activitiy which temporarily receives, shelters, and provides
for personnel reporting in for transfer to ships or shore stations in all parts
of the world, or fo separation at the end of their enlistment.
Kippenhan is one of an average of 6,000 Navy men who pass through the receiving
station each month
