Riemer, Gerald “Jerry” “Sonny” E. (29 JUN 1930 - 11 MAY 2016)

Gerald “Jerry” “Sonny” E. Riemer, age 85 of W3761 State Highway 64, Medford, a Township of Browning resident, passed away on Wednesday, May 11 at Aspirus Medford Hospital, emergency room where he was taken earlier.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 14, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, with Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment will be in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Pallbearers will be Paul and Jessica Erikson, Stephanie and Greg Downey, Josh and Sam Brandner.

Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM on Saturday, May 15.

Jerry was born on June 29, 1930, at Medford, to Edward and Helen Marie (Raymond) Riemer.

He attended Medford area elementary schools, and was married on December 11, 1953, at Medford, to Karen M. Hoffman. She survives.

He worked at Hurd Millwork in Medford for 44 years until retirement. He also farmed in the Town of Browning for a period of time and also owned/operated Riemer’s Plaster Craft & Concrete for a period of years. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, polka music, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Karen M. Riemer; children Kathy (Mark) Brandner of Medford and Michael (Susan) Riemer of Owen; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; siblings Darlene Gebauer and Faith (Roger) Higgins, both of Medford, Carol (John) Gaba of Wisconsin Rapids, Sharyle (Dennis) Peche of Dorchester; Gary Riemer of Medford, Bill Riemer of Stetsonville, Duane (Carol) Riemer of Marshfield and Ralph (Dorothy) Riemer of Waterford, WI.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Helen Marie (Raymond) Riemer.
