Schlais, Marjorie L. (Rogers) (27 JUL 1926 - ? MAY 2016)
Marjorie L. Schlais, age 89, of County Road D, Westboro, a Township of Westboro
resident, passed away at the residence of her son in Birchwood, WI, under the
loving care of her family and Lakeview Medical Center Hospice.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 13 at Community United Church of
Christ, Medford, with Pastor Mary Jo Laabs officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, May
13 at Community United Church of Christ, Medford.
Marjorie was born on July 27, 1926, at Wisconsin Rapids, WI, to William and
Irene (Denny) Rogers.
She attended Wisconsin Rapids elementary schools and was a graduate of Stevens
Point High School.
On February 23, 1946, in Stevens Point, she married Clarence E. Schlais. He
preceded her in death on May 8, 2012.
After their marriage, they moved to Medford where she worked as a housewife and
mother for most of her life. They moved to the Township of Westboro in 1972. She
enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and gardening. She was a past member of
Community United Church of Christ, Medford.
She is survived by children, Barbara (Roger) Steen of the Town of Westboro and
Steven (Carol) Schlais of Birchwood, WI; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren
and 4 great great grandchildren.
Marjorie is predeceased by her husband Clarence, parents William and Irene
(Denny) Rogers; great granddaughter Sierra Buchkowski, in 2012; sisters, Shirley
Waskowick and Mildred Waide.
