San Diego, California (FHTNC) – Marine Private Edward C. LeDuc, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles E. LeDuc of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, was scheduled to
complete recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.
on October 31, 1961.
The eleven-week, four-phase training program emphasizes physical conditioning,
history and mission of the Marine Corps, military customs and courtesies,
hygiene and sanitation and other military subjects, including three weeks of
instructiona dpractice on the M-1 rifle, Browning automatic rifle and
.45-caliber pistol.
The new leatherneck will next report to Camp Pendleton, California for further
infantry training.
