Knutsen, Cepha (4 APR 1900 – 22 DEC 1961)
Cepha Knutsen, daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Spencer) Peterson, was
born in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) April 4, 1900. She received her education
here, graduating from the Greenwood High School with the class of 1918. She was
married to ray Knutsen and they lived many years here. He passed away a few
years ago.
Mrs. Knutsen, owner of the local telephone company, was found dead in her garage
at her home, Friday, December 22, 1961. Clark County authorities said she had
died of carbon monoxide poisoning, and listed the death as a suicide.
Miss Rosemary Andresen, Neillsville, who had been staying at the Knutsen home
the past week, found the body. The engine of the car was still running.
The body was taken to the Georgas Funeral Home, Neillsville, and later taken to
Minneapolis for cremation.
She is survived by a brother, Everett Peterson, of Michigan.
