Hackel, Raymond W. (8 SEP 1922 – 22 MAY 2016)
Raymond W. Hackel, age 93, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 surrounded by his
family at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford. A memorial
service be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral
Home in Abbotsford. Father Charles Hiebl will officiate. Interment will be held
at St. Thomas in Milan. Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 PM until the
time of the service on Wednesday at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in
Abbotsford.
Raymond was born on September 8, 1922, in the Town of Holton, the son of Albert
and Sadie (Speck) Hackel. He was united in marriage to the love of his life,
Irma Hoernke on April 6, 1946 at the priest's house in Wuertzberg.
Raymond was a farmer. He farmed until the age of 62. Other jobs include hauling
milk and driving a gravel truck.
Raymond enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, gambling and weeding ginseng. He was
also a big Cub's fan and Packer fan. Most of all, he loved his family.
Raymond is survived by his wife: Irma Hackel; eight children: Judy (Daniel)
Maroldy, CA, Mike (Cheri) Hackel of Abbotsford, Wendy King of Watertown, Julie
(Roger) Thieme of Colby, Kathy (Roy) Welcher of Cameron, Ken Hackel of
Abbotsford, Paula (Bruce) Erickson of Athens, and Paul (Tracy) Hackel of
Medford; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a brother: Howard Hackel
and a sister: Celia Venzke. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Isadore Hackel and a sister: Marie Hummes.
