Burt, Mr./Mrs. H.W. (Family Illnesses – 13 Feb 1919)
The home of Mr. And Mrs. H.W. Burt was turned into a hospital the past week.
Some seven weeks ago, Chas. Peck of Neillsville, a cousin of Mr. Burt, was
brought to St. Joseph’s Hospital and operated on for appendicitis. His case was
a very stubborn one and he is still in that institution. In the meantime Mrs.
Peck became afflicted with the same disease and was brought to the hospital for
an operation. She quickly recovered and with her three children were stopping at
the Burt home. Last Sunday the three Peck children came down with influenza and
two days later, Mrs. Burt and her daughter, Gladys, became afflicted with the
same disease. Luckily the influenza cases are a mild form. – Marshfield Herald.
