Scoles, James (21 APR 1865 – 4 Feb 1919)
James Scoles, after years of patient suffering through an affliction of cancer,
answered the final summons at his late home in Neillsville, about 10 o’clock
Tuesday morning, February 4th, 1919. Mr. Scoles was born at Bloon City, Richland
County, Wis., April 21st, 1865. He was married at Red Cloud, Nebraska, December
8th, 1888, to Miss Leah Heaton. Mr. and Mrs. Scoles moving from Nebraska here in
November of 1900 settled on a farm in the town of York. He was a good carpenter
and spent much of his time engaged in that trade. His wife died here Sept. 7th,
1901. He never re-married and with his daughter, Jessie, moved from here to
Neillsville only a year ago last fall. – Granton News.
