Neillsville (27 Feb 1919)
Mrs. B. Dangers came home from Milwaukee Monday, bringing her son, Fred, home
with her. Fred has been in a hospital there and will spend a short time here
recuperating.
The 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sherman died at their home at Wausau
and the remains were brought here on Tuesday for burial. The sorrowing parents
have the entire sympathy of their friends here.

Joe Benjamin was at Marshfield Tuesday on business.
Mrs. Jesse Lowe was at Marshfield yesterday between trains.
Paul Pernod went to Waupaca Tuesday on a business trip.
Mrs. A.C. Pitcher went to Oshkosh Saturday to visit her sister.
Harold Sheddon returned Tuesday from a brief visit at Dunsee, Ill.
Mrs. Allan Wildish went to Milwaukee Tuesday for a short visit.

Mrs. John Bornhofen was called to Marinette last week by the illness of a
younger sister.
Mrs. Marshall came from Spirit Lake, Idaho, last week for a visit with her
sisters, Mrs. O’Neill and Mrs. Hewett.
Miss Laura Marth returned to Milwaukee Saturday after spending three weeks with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marth.
Cards have been received here announcing the marriage of Mrs. Nettie Sturdevant
to Thos. C. Rogers at Centralia, Wash., on Feb. 6th. Mrs. Rogers is a former
Neillsville resident and Mr. Rogers is a well known businessman and mayor of
Centralia.
Werner Just arrived home Friday from Camp Grant where he received a discharge.
He returned from France a few days ago and is one of the first Neillsville boys
to get home. He saw a year and a half of service in France, having enlisted and
gone across with one of the first units of American fighting men. He feels well,
but glad to get home.
Will Huntley expects soon to have the assistance of a stenographer in his marble
works as on Monday Miss Jane Huntley arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Huntley
and expects to make her home there permanently.
Last week someone telephoned in an ad to the Times offering a rooster for sale.
It was understood that the telephoner was Mrs. James Shummel and it was so
advertised. Mrs. Shummel states that as a result of the ad, she had about a
dozen inquiries for a rooster, which she knew nothing about and which she did
not own. Mrs. Ben Thoma should have been credited with the ownership of the
cockerels.
