My name is Victoria Sluzewski, my parents are Theodore Sluzewski and Wanda
Tomczak, married September 12, 1942 St. Hedwig’s, Thorp, Wisconsin.
Theodore Sluzewski was born November 20 or 21, 1900 per Westmoreland Co.,
Pennsylvania birth info & Clark Co., WI death certificate & his father’s
naturalization records. Died June 10, 1946 buried at St. Hedwig’s old cemetery
per death & obituary records. Parents are John Sluzewski & Victoria Frackowiak
per Theodore & Wanda’s marriage record & PA birth & his father’s naturalization
records.
His Father John Sluzewski was born December 23, 1864 in Marcewek, Poland, per
baptismal record.
Died July 8, 1936, Township of Withee, Thorp, Wisconsin, buried at St. Hedwig’s.
Parents are Martin Sluzewski and Katarzyna Piwnicki per baptismal & marriage
records. He married Victoria Frackowiak on January 25, 1885 at parish of
Ostrowite, Poland per marriage record. Was Coal Miner at the Biddle mine in
Westmoreland Co., PA. Per Clark County, WI death records Martin Sluzewski died
October 24, 1927 in Township of Withee, WI and is buried at St. Hedwig’s old
cemetery. Martin appears as father-in-law to Jacob Przybylski on 1910 census
records. Jacob married Martin’s daughter Marianna Sluzewski January 15, 1893 at
the parish of Mlodojewo, Poland his daughter Josephine Sluzewski married Jacob’s
brother Valentine Przybylski June 29, 1896 in Pennsylvania. Have both marriage
records.
John and Victoria Frackowiak Sluzewski had a total of 9 children. But the first
child died no name listed. I have all baptismal or Birth records.
1. Josephine 1887, Stara Olszyna Poland
2. Wincenty known as Victor 1888 Stara Olszyna, Poland
3. Mary 1890 Stara Olszyna, Poland
4. Helen 1896 Meszno, Poland
5. Edward 1898 Meszno, Poland all of the above People arrived at the Port of
Baltimore. Maryland in April of 1899 according to the passenger list.
6. Theodore 1900 North Huntingdon township, Westmoreland Co., PA

His Mother Victoria Frackowiak was born December 24, 1863 in Wierzbocice, Poland
per baptismal record. Died March 4, 1942 and is buried at St. Hedwig’s old
cemetery. Parents are Stanislaw Frackowiak and Antonina Koltoniak per baptismal
& marriage record. The first letter A in Frackowiak has a c under that letter
which is pronounced as ON according to the Polish Alphabet. That is why
Frackowiak is pronounced & written as Franckowiak in American records.
Wanda Tomczak was born April 11, 1915 per baptismal record from St. Mary’s
Czestochowa church in Junction but registered as May 11, 1915 because the
register did not understand when her father gave Kwiecien as April but
understood Maj as May. Her parents were Albert (Wojciech) Tomczak and Apolonia
Cutkowski per baptismal, birth certificate and marriage records. Both parents
are buried at Thorp, WI City cemetery. She Married Joseph Losiewicz August 23,
1947, St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic church, Lublin, WI. The son of Anton
Losiewicz and Helen Kijek, born Sept. 14, 1907, Coal Center, Washington County,
PA died Nov. 10, 1987 Chippewa Falls, WI. Wanda Died on February 28, 1988
Marshfield, WI and buried at St. Mary’s cemetery, Lublin, WI with husband Joe
Losiewicz.
I have done a lot of research in Poland and United States on the Sluzewski,
Frackowiak, Tomczak and Cudak/Cutkowski family but would have to hire a
researcher in Poland for Anton Losiewicz and Helena Kijek. I see the Kijek name
also spelled as Kijak. Anton Losiewicz was a soldier in the Russian army and
Coal Miner in Pennsylvania.
